Drue Sanders: Custom Success
Drue Sanders with her inspiration, ElwoodIn business over 30 years, Drue Sanders opened her first shop in the Whaler's Warf in Provincetown, MA, with a staff of one (Drue Sanders herself) in a very small 7 x 9 foot space. In July of 1975, she moved operations to the Capital Region forming Drue Sanders Silversmith, LTD, in the MidCity Shopper's Village in Menands. During a two-year period of business in the Shopper's Village, the store expanded three times. In April 1977, Drue moved the store to Clifton Country Mall. Business boomed at the Clifton Country Mall location, as Drue saw her staff grow from three to eight people in just under six years.

During the company's continued growth Drue recognized an opportunity in the reformation of Stuyvesant Plaza. In October of 1984, she opened a second and larger store, entitled Drue Sanders Silversmiths of Stuyvesant, LTD. While in Stuyvesant Plaza the business continued to grow, enabling Drue to expand her jewelry line and customer base. In June of 1989, Drue changed the company name to Drue Sanders Custom Jewelers and moved within the Plaza to a location twice the size.

After more than 20 years of progressive growth, Drue felt the company was seasoned enough to be in a separate, freestanding location. In January of 1995, Drue Sanders Custom Jewelers relocated the store operations and design studio to its current location at 1675 Western Avenue in Guilderland, and continues the successful tradition of custom jewelry solutions with her loyal team of design and sales associates.
